Move over, McDonald’s, ‘cos the real happy meal is here. I swear, this slice of chocolate cake can trigger enough endorphins to drive a nestful of ants absolutely nuts. Barely two forkfuls later, I stopped counting calories and started babbling in oohs and aahs. Though X and I both agreed that the beverages at Patisserie G had more oomph, spending quiet hours in this sunbathed environment was quite a relish.

Teppei Japanese Restaurant

My first omakase experience required reservations to be made two months in advance. Try calling today, and they’ll say it’s fully booked until next year. It’s little wonder, since Teppei offers probably the most value-for-money omasake meals in town. Sashimi was served with fresh wasabi, and time stood still as the boxful of uni made its grand appearance.

Department of Caffeine

On Saturday, we managed to roll out of bed for brunch before the sun set. X grumbled about the petite servings, but I was enjoying the buttery cranberry scones way too much to empathise. And did I mention that the crème chantilly was beautifully specked with vanilla seeds?
