Haystakt is a great platform to find unique, well-designed goods that are sourced directly from independent makers around the world. Its pop-up space at Chinatown features Singaporean makers, their goods and the stories behind them. Visit it before it disappears end March, and while you’re there, drop by the Edible Gardens to see how you can add some greenery to this concrete jungle we live in.

The Space Program is a project initiated by Foreign Policy Design Group, in collaboration with Unlisted Collection and supported by National Heritage Board.
Quite a mouthful, huh? Well, that basically means there is now a pop-up store at the lobby of New Majestic Hotel, selling everyday items related to the Singaporean culture.
Carefully curated by Foreign Policy Design Group, you can expect books, art prints, DVDs, and even freshly roasted coffee beans from Papa Palheta.
I especially loved how the display shelves were constructed using stacked washboards. Very innovative and nostalgic!
I was elated to see the latest issue of apartamento here as I had been searching high and low for this. It was featured for a short fiction story set in olden Singapore.
The Space Program is happening from now till 11 October at the New Majestic Hotel. If you’re interested to see how contemporary popular culture can also be uniquely Singaporean, then you won’t want to miss this.

Club Street Social is a gorgeous New York-styled restaurant serving lip-smacking italian-inspired dishes. Over here, breakfast is served all-day, every day. It’s the perfect way to start any given morning. And, perhaps to end the day, as I hear they serve fantastic spiked drinks too!
