I only have one teeny issue with these fresh and super-moist cupcakes from Plain Vanilla: the swirl of frosting being wee too sweet for my liking. Nonetheless, the soft and chocolaty red velvet cupcake is definitely one of the best in town, sans frosting that is.

Stashed away on the 2nd storey somewhere in Holland Village is MU Parlour, an unobtrusive cafe that’s perfect for people-watching, quiet reading and afternoon gossips.
While the food didn’t send us hopping down the streets in ecstasy, they’re decent enough for a light meal. We especially enjoyed the Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake (below) and all of the sunshine that spilled over.
Meanwhile, baby fishy is loaded and ready for adventure! I still can’t believe how tiny this kid is. Can’t wait to launder the pictures!

If you’ve been to any Starbucks concept stores in Japan, you probably wouldn’t think much of this colonialized branch at Rochester Park. BUT. This may well be a promising start for future concept cafes, now that the local market is deemed mature for such a venture. Fingers crossed!
My usual order at Starbucks includes a Caramel Macchiato…
… and a toasted cheesy bagel, smeared with generous cream cheese. ♥♥
Great hideout for students and freelancers alike, and for balconies that overlook albeit not much of a view.

Given all the hype and raves about this place, it was a rather disappointing experience. Perhaps we caught it on a bad day. The scrambled eggs were dry and tasteless, and their mocha coffee bitter, which we suspect the chocolate’s to blame. Blahs.
