It was still winter, and Luna Park was closed. We settled down by the beach against a fervent, refreshing breeze, joined with a couple of traditional Polish cakes from the acclaimed Monarch Cakes. In spite of their humble appearance, these cakes boast of rich Eastern European history. They speak of a dedication toward using simple, natural ingredients to preserve recipes that have been passed down for generations.
