Melbourne: Queen Victoria Market

Thursday Travels is a weekly column featuring sights and sounds from my wanderlust adventures. Come, fly with me, and we’ll explore strange cultures, exotic eats and everything in-between.

After peeing on the apartment bed to mark our territory, we headed straight down to Queen Victoria Market for a taste of Melbourne in burst mode. From glossy waxed fruits to cured kangaroo meat, everything cried out “EAT ME!” in helvetica bold but my eyes stayed fixated on those juicy shelled oysters. Even now, my weak heart still flutters haphazardly at the thought of one-dollar oysters and the smell of saltwater. God save the Queen.
