The Coffee Shot

These days, my cravings tend to center around economical hawker fare like Laksa, Char Kuey Teow and Chwee Kuey. Perhaps that’s the mark of a Singaporean: I never get sick of local food. And salmon… and coffee… Well, you get the drift.

So my heart skipped a beat with every morsel of the Otah Pizza, reminiscing childhood visits to a hawker stall which specialised in Otah – spicy, non-spicy, fish, prawn, squid. Maybe setting up a hawker stall isn’t as hip as opening a cafe, but who’s stopping local fare from elevating to the air-conditioned arena?
