Staying in Beijing

Thursday Travels is a weekly column featuring sights and sounds from my wanderlust adventures. Come, fly with me, and we’ll explore strange cultures, exotic eats and everything in-between.

We were rather worried about having digestive problems during our stay in Beijing. Partly because of the different eating habits, and more importantly, due to insufficient intake of fruits and vegetables.

Which was why we prepared a set of condiments for light cooking and, on our very first day, set out for grocery shopping. I got these containers from MUJI, and they are great for travel. And yes, we conveniently sneaked out a few packets of salt, pepper and sugar from McD.

We got these wooden forks and spoons from one of the many zakka shops in Beijing. It always feels great to start the day with a simple breakfast. And I swear, X makes the best Teh-O ever.

We booked our apartment through Roomorama, an efficient and affordable solution to long holidays. And it was fully equipped with everything we possibly needed (Wi-Fi, heater, kitchenette, washing machine and dryer). Neat.
