Penang: Tek Sen Restaurant

Thursday Travels is a weekly column featuring sights and sounds from my wanderlust adventures. Come, fly with me, and we’ll explore strange cultures, exotic eats and everything in-between.

Our very first meal in Penang was at Tek Sen Restaurant as recommended by a friendly staff at 23 Love Lane. Little did we know then that it’s a very popular cze-char restaurant, and it was by sheer luck that we actually picked their signature dish!

We’ve never tasted anything like this plate of 招牌燒肉 (Signature Roast Pork) and, trust me, it’s amazingly goooood. Full of wok-hei, and roasted to the point of caramelization. Goes really well with white rice.

Satisfying homecooked fare at a reasonable price. The signature roast pork is definitely a must-try!

Tek Sen Restaurant
