Jewel Coffee.

Had a pleasant experience at Jewel Coffee despite the blazing sun and hurried customers. It caters mostly to the working crowd in CDB area, but I heard it’s great for chilling out after work too.

Jewel uses single origin beans and you can select the bean for your cup. The beans give different flavors and nuances — floral, citrus, nutty, etc — so it’ll be good to ask your barista if unsure. I think Singaporeans are generally prefer the Sumatra, which gives full-bodied, nutty flavor with less acidity.

Waiting patiently for my cuppa as it drips and taking a whiff of Lintong’s wet aroma thereafter. I really enjoy slow, manual brewing processes. Not only do they extract more out of the beans, they also teach us to pause in this age of instant gratification.

Lightly toasted, this chicken sandwich had a nice crunch on the outside while the breast meat was tender and juicy with an appetizing splash of citrus. Be warned, it’s a very hearty portion.
