The Devotion of Suspect X.

If you’re a fan of the drama series “Galileo (ガリレオ)” or cult film “The Devotion of Suspect X (容疑者Xの献身)”, you’d be glad to know that the original novel has been recently translated and published in English.

“The Devotion of Suspect X”, written by Keigo Higashino, has sold over 2 million copies in Japan alone. I was blown away by the twist at the end, which came as a complete shocker — a tragedy so beautifully unveiled.

Kusanagi watched as Ishigami screamed, and it seemed to him as if the mathematician was shouting out his very soul.

This book is brilliant because of its lack of knotty details and populous characters. The plot is simple, the facts laid out and the only mystery that remains is a matter of connecting the dots, which may prove to be extremely tricky.

They could take away his sight, or his hearing, but they could not touch his brain. Confinement was like a limitless garden of paradise for him.
