Vincent will Meer.

Or “Vincent wants to sea” in English. After his mother’s death, Vincent who is diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome, was sent to an institute. There, he meets Marie, an anorexic, and Alexander, an obsessive compulsive patient. After stealing Dr. Rose’s car, they embark on a journey to fulfill Vincent’s mother’s last wish.

Without any doctor’s guidance, Maria starves herself sick, Vincent experiences love and Alex learns to interact with other people. Very real characters, mixed in with comedy and adventure. Though we may seem different in appearance and action, I’m sure every one would be able to empathize with them at the end of the film.

“Vincent will Meer” and many other award-winning German films are showing now at Cathay in conjunction with the German Film Festival 2011, organized by Goethe Institut.
