Maison Ikkoku.

Pardon my lack of updates. Are being swarmed lately by a series of short overseas trips, for both work and leisure, and have accumulated a backlog of posts again. The latest software update for Sony NEX sports a new “ultra panoramic” photo composition which gives a very cinematic feel when composed horizontally. Nice.

Maison Ikkoku is a new cafe that sprung up along Kandahar Street, near the Sultan Mosque. As part of The U Café project by Underscore magazine, a range of indie magazines are provided for in-house reading, including the more popular Monocle.

Hook it up when not in use, a novel design for a teaspoon.

The beautiful latte art at the cafe is done by in-house baristas specially trained by latte art master Hiroshi Sawada from Japan.

Served with unrefined raw sugar.

I love their homemade rendition of the carrot cake. Moist, with visible shreds of carrot, and smeared with smooth cream cheese.

Can you spot the carrot shreds?

A most delightful way to squander the afternoon away. And while you’re there, check out their boutique at level 2 for designer wears and accessories for him.

  1. Your blog is awesome! Heard of Coffee Daily at Brighton Crescent? That place is nice and comfortable! Please do a review on that.
