Katong: Breakfast to Supper.

Many new cafes and ice-cream parlors have popped up over the years along Katong. Wonderful as they are, but often, the most satisfying foods are the simplest ones.

Toasted kaya buns with a smooth slab of butter, who can resist?

But I think their coffee’s better than the tea.

Flowy gooey eggy love!

Complete with grumpy old aunties to seal in an unpretentious nostalgia. May I have another kaya bun please??

Photo on top was breakfast and bottom was supper, who’d tell the difference?

Fei Fei would always pop up on our minds when we’re in Katong at wee hours. Well, either this or bak kut teh actually. Whether this is truly the best wanton mee is highly debatable, but homemade egg noodles and dark sauce is definitely the way to go.
